Haven't had much time to update my blog lately - things are busy, busy, busy with summer coming :-) We have already started shooting seniors, although we've had to cancel our outdoor sessions so far due to weather - but that just means we get to spend more time with them at their next session! Alexa - Senior Rep

We have gotten so busy at the studio I haven't had time to update the blog! So tonight I am going to make time to get it updated. We have been photographing our senior reps, and have sent out our first postcard. The deadline has passed for the deals on that card, but don't worry if you didn't get us called yet. We will be sending out a new card this month, and while the deal on this one won't be as good as the last - we will still have a special for those that book early! And to all of you who have already booked with us for your senior sessions - thank you so much!! We really appreciate it. The response to our first card was so much better than we had expected! 2011 is going to be a great year for seniors!

First Senior Rep for 2011

Homecoming

This morning I went to the National Guard Homecoming Ceremony at the airport. I love going to these - it is so cool to see all the kids and families waiting for their soldiers to come home. It's a really neat thing to be a part of - just to hang out and watch. It really makes you appreciate what these soldiers do for all of us, and how much they give up and leave behind.

Easter Photos aka Bunny Days (with goats)

We have completed our first round of Easter pictures with the baby goats. And by popular demand, we are doing some more on Sunday, March 28 if anyone is interested. However, sessions for this Sunday are VERY limited, so call now. We will not be doing another round this year after Sunday.
The goats are triplets, so we rotated them so none of them got too tired. (The photographers are a whole other story!!) Here are a few of the photos. Thanks to everyone who helped make this day a success. We love seeing your children dressed up in their easter outfits :-)

Ballerinas!!

I learned how to make tutus - so we called one of our models (we were lucky to get Lena - she is in high demand!!) and had her come in to help us show them off. We are considering doing a ballerina promotion, and will keep you posted as we get more details! Lena did so good - she lasted through 5 clothing changes! Thanks for your help Lena - and thanks for squeezing us in to your busy schedule! :-)

Grease....

We were asked to photograph the Kelly Walsh High School Drama department's presentation of Grease! These kids did an amazing job - we were so impressed!! We were only allowed to use available light - no strobes or flash. We were still able to get some decent shots, despite the lighting. Hunter came in several months ago for a session. We had to wait for the right weather, and to make sure we were both in town for these photos. Hunter is going to have the studio create a graduation announcement for him. Here is one of the images we shot of his car.

This is Jake! He was so adorable, and he lasted a very long time for only being 4 months old.
He came from Gillette to let us take his photos, and we are so glad he did!

NEW STUFF

We are excited to announce that we have a lot of new ideas we have been working on. We have a new baby plan, which isn't really new, since we have never really had one before :-) We have two customers expecting twins, and we are so excited to photograph all these new babies!
We have a fireman promotion coming up, called Little Heros. We will be delivering fliers to the Fire Department with all the information!

We will be announcing this years Bunny Days dates very soon, along with photos of our scene for this year. It's always exciting to see our customers in their little Easter outfits!

We are working on our senior reps for the class of 2011. If you know of anyone that is interested in being our rep, please have them contact us. We have most of our reps in place, but could use a couple more.

Flash Photography at Night with Rachel

We had a willing subject last night, so we went outside and tried out some off camera flash at night.  I am pretty happy with how they turned out - but I have a lot to learn about this tecnique!  But we all had fun, and Rachel got some good images.  And she is willing to come back and play some more so I can get lots of practice!

City Wide Ball

Saturday night was the City Wide Ball. That is a formal dance for all the high schools combined. Before the dances, our kids and their friends all come to our studio for pictures. It gets hectic with all those kids there, but it's fun! We have another formal dance in less than two weeks - so there will be more photos to come soon!!

YES - We are making some exciting changes in the way we do business!

We realize how busy you are - and that your time for personal business is hard to come by. So we are going to try to make things easier on you. Soon, you will be able to book your appointment on line - without having to wait for a phone call. You will just pick the time that works best for you and it's booked! No more phone tag.
We are also going to try on line proofing and ordering. After your appointment, you will receive an e-mail when your proofs are ready for you to view. You can order on line, and your prints will be mailed directly to you from our lab!
We think this will be one less thing you have to stress about. We know how stressful getting portraits taken can be. Help us try out our new processes and as always, we encourage any and all feedback. Thank you! We value you as a customer!
